Environmentally-friendly crisps ‘too noisy’

Frito-Lay have been criticised for making the packaging on its biodegradable crisps too loud. The company will switch back to its old-style packaging (plastic) for five of its six SunChips flavours.

Complaints were received regarding the new packaging stating it was too stiff and too loud.

Discovered: the oldest known dinosaur fossils

Researchers in Poland have found some of the earliest known dinosaur footprints. The fossils are thought to be around 250 million years old and signify one of the greatest discoveries of recent years.

According to the scientists, the animals responsible for the creatures had feed just a few centimetres long, walked on four legs and were extremely rare.

Top head teacher eats tarantula

Aydin Onac, one of the country’s top head teachers has stunned his pupils by eating a tarantula in front of them to raise money for a sport and drama block.

The spider, which had been baked, created mixed emotions with pupils – some liked the stunt, while others were upset and angry after having watched the head teacher consume the spider.

He has only been at the school for one month, and has already stamped his unconventional approach to running a school.

Twitter not for sale

Dick Costollo, the new chief executive of Twitter has said the company is not for sale. He said he wanted Twitter to be a successful independent company and refused to reveal his shareholding in the social networking giant. He denied that being promoted to chief executive would lead to a more aggressive focus on Twitter becoming more commercial – or that it was an indication of weakness in the previous leader, Ev Williams.

This is our first post – and I’ll be honest, we’re a little nervous!

It’s going to be a short one, but we’ll still give you a quick bit of random news:

A man has completed the first ever double backflip in a wheelchair. Yup, that’s right, in a wheelchair.

The talented guy managed his feat, so be it after a few bumps on the head and crash landings… but he did it, and he now holds the world record.

Well done to him!
